Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother. But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established. Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven. (Matthew 18:15, 16, 21, 22 KJV) You must be willing to forgive others. No matter how many times someone sins against you, you must have a forgiving heart because it is asked of us. In Matthew Chapter 18, We must have a passion in us to be able to forgive. None of us are perfect and we must design ourselves to love our neighbors as ourselves. 2. For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. (Matthew 6:14, 15 KJV) Forgiving isn't easy, but it's something that needs to be done. We have to have compassion in our hearts. If you don't forgive others then neither will God forgive you. That will shy you away from the ones that will try and come closer to you. If we don't forgive, you're only hindering yourself from being great. |
