"Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths." Proverbs 3:5, 6 AMP I have been happy of what's been going on in my life but lately I've been confused of what God's plan is for my life. This verse really spoke to me and reminded me that I need to not worry of where my past is if God is leading the way. In sports there is always a leader. Whether the team is good or bad. Through out sports, there are some really good teams but there is never just a team that is consistent and a favorable winner of each season. I like to refer God as the leader of my life because even through bad times he still knows how to lead to victory. I thank God for being a consistent leader throughout my life.
"Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass." Psalms 37:4, 5 KJV When I read this verse, I simply fell in love with it as soon as I saw the first line! It explains how God will truly bless us and give us whatever we desire if we just "delight" or as I want to define this, make God important in our lives!! It continues by saying, "trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass." I love this line as well. In the game of football, there's a position called the Quarterback lol. There are some good ones like Peyton Manning and there's also some that aren't as talented. Peyton Manning is one of the best in the game!!! Denver is actually 4-0 this season! He's a great passer lol. Ahhh I like to say that because I know another person who is great at passing lol. That's my God!! I trust MY God and believe what He says it true so much that all I did was put my faith and trust in Him and He makes nothing but perfect passes in my life. He lets the bad things in my life pass me, he lets the devil's ways pass me, he lets the evilness pass me, he lets the things that can take any person down pass me. God is the perfect quarterback! This man never makes mistakes and he always comes up clutch! I love MY Quarterback!!!
"The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace." Exodus 14:14 There's a cleaning product that's out and it's called the Swiffer Duster or better known as the Swiffer Picker Upper. That is the name of the product. They advertising saying it is a quick and simple product that cleans around you and picks up all the small and little particles of dust around us. This is a great example of what God does for us in our own lives. To a certain degree, God is our Swiffer Duster but in a larger scale. He cleans the bad things that we do in our lives because He loves us. He fights for us each and every day and He protects at all times. Learn how to call on our Swiffer Duster, the Lord, because we serve a mighty God that will clean up our lives 10x better than an actual Swiffer Duster!!!
"Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." John 15:13 I want to start this post today by saying we serve such a mighty God. We serve a God that forgives when we are wrong and loves us when nobody else does. In this verse, God tells us that there is no greater love when a man sacrifices his life for his friends. This doesn't mean he necessarily dies for his friends but it can be a reference to "riding or dying" for your homies. We have to be there for one another because ultimately we can't live a life solely by ourselves. We have to rely on other and of course God to make it through this difficult and cruel world. He explains to us that there is no greater man than the one that lays down his life for His friends. Be that "ride or die" or "protect ya squad" or "don't sneak-diss ya crew" because those are your brothers and your sisters in Christ and we have to be their for one another. I thank God for all my homies and the people that I am close to because only God knows where I would be if it wasn't for the people that I am close to.
"Anyone who claims to be in the light but hates his brother is still in the darkness." 1 John 2:9 God is simply saying, if you claim that you are a Christian and claim that you love the Lord how can you deny others and hate others who claim the same thing as well. Yesterday on twitter I said, "Hate isn't in my heart, it's more like I forgave you and know that's not where I need to be. Need people to build me up, not tear me down." There's a difference in hating someone and distancing yourself from people. We can't live with a hateful heart. Learn how to forgive others when they are wrong and grow from it. A brother is defined by someone who is close to us and has an interest at heart. We can't hate the ones that love us unconditionally. We have to live in the light and not in the dark. How can we find the open door in a dark cave without the light to guide us? You can't. So keep the light in your heart and share your light with others.
"The righteous is more excellent than his neighbor: but the way of the wicked seduceth them." Proverbs 12:26 God tells us that the ones that do right are more excellent than his or her own neighbor. God will always protect the ones that are His. He will always be there for them. That's why He says that ones that do right are more excellent than his or her own neighbor because He has His hand over the righteous. Even though the righteous is on the right path, they will always be tempted by the devil to do evil things. As Christians we have to be able to realize wrong from right. Evil will always seduce us and try and get us to go its way. We have to be strong enough to go God's way and avoid those temptations.
"I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting." 1 Timothy 2:8 In these lines, God explains to us that we can't ashamed to give Him thanks and praise Him wherever we are. We can't be ashamed of all the work He has done for us in our own lives. He asks us to pray. We are allowed to pray everywhere!! We can pray any time of the day and just call to Him. That's what His word says. When He says, "lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting", He is simply saying we shouldn't be shy, scared or ashamed of praying and worshipping Him. It shouldn't matter what's around us or what people may think. God's love is far much greater!! We can't be too cool to do what He says and give Him thanks because He can easily take away what we have today. By just doing what He says, God can remove our miseries and replace it with something extraordinary!!
"And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be." Genesis 15:5 KJV If you want to create movement for yourself and in your life, you will have to get out of the smallness that you are in. You have to come out of the tent that you are hiding under. You have to start thinking BIG in your heart. When God starts talking to you, listen.. You will never be small if you believe in God. God says lift your eyes wherever you are. Stop letting WHERE you are define WHO you are. God will always give you a picture to connect your faith with. You have to rehearse what you see. Then you have to BECOME what you see. The more you REHEARSE what you see, the more you will BECOME what you see.
"For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come." 1 Timothy 4:8 KJV I learned a lot just listening to the Pastor in church today. The lesson I learned was you have to be passionate about what you are trying to move. If it's not something that you care passionate about it will be very difficult to create movement. We have to grow as we go. We have to Hit the Gym and exercise out faith in GOD. Exercising our faith in God is far greater and lasts a lot longer than physical exercise. Exercising faith is eternally and forever, physical exercise is only short term. We gotta HIT THE GYM YALL!
"Do not be so deceived and misled! Evil companionships (communion, associations) corrupt and deprave good manners and morals and character." (1 Corinthians 15:33 AMP) We learn good morals and values when we are little, but as we mature we shy away from these lessons. We shy away from these lessons simply because of our surroundings. Our surroundings learn bad morals because it is considered "cool" or "swaggy". We need to refer back to those good morals that we were taught when we were little. The devil will always try and steer us away from God. We can't let him do that.
